I don't really have tons to say about Logans. It's American-New food served on Tuesday-Saturday from 5pm-10pm. This place takes reservations. For the prices you'll be paying you don't want to be waiting long for your meal. It's a nice date place if you are trying to impress, but if your date isn't a foodie they may not like this place. It may be to 'new' and not enough 'American'.
Pictured below is the crab and avocado with the Thai scallops. They were both very good. Next time I'd like to try the following: wild boar bolognese, bourbon pork tenderloin, moroccan hen, or the Michigan perch tempura. Logan's Website

The Meeting Place is a place that you go for happy hour. I feel like their actual entrees would be better than their happy hour bites. I would normally go to Kabin Krusers, but I wanted to try some place new and I've seen the photos online and they look delicious. Even the pictures above look delicious! Pictured above is a cheeseburger and fries, fish and chips, and the chicken wings. The fish was good, but it's kind of hard to mess up fish and chips. The cheeseburger was good, but I'd pass on the chicken wings. They just weren't my style. Too salty and overly seasoned. I think that was on purpose.
I would try a pizza, but they don't have gluten-free options. They look good online... The next time I come back to Rochester I'll be going to Kabin Krusers for their happy hour, which is excellete! :) The Meeting House's Website So Torino used to be open during the day serving up their delicious illy coffee and snacks. Then they did a complete facelift and now serve expensive, aesthetically pleasing, fix priced menu items that are crazy to look at. It's a place you go for a special occasion, not for a random Thursday night dinner. I have no doubt they are really good. I hope I get to try them someday. I'll have to save my pennies! I kind of miss being able to go in mid-day and having a european coffee and working on my Macbook. Or drinking a craft cocktail/glass of wine and working. Oh those were the days. Torino's Website I never would have eaten here if my friend Kelly didn't recommend them to me. They seem a bit overpriced for me to be a regular diner at this establishment. However, she said they had one of the best burgers she has ever had. Basically when someone says that I have to check it out. It's like... you have to, you know? So I went, and it was in fact pretty damn good. Also, you get a mountain of skinny cut fries that are salty and hot. The burger wasn't the BEST I have ever had, but like I said it was better than average. That's what pretty damn good means, if you didn't know. :)
I was told though that they use different meat and the burger now tastes different. So, I haven't been back. I would like to remember them as the pretty damn good burger place. Welp, they are more than a burger place they have fine dining American-new food, but it's pricey. Stop in and have a burger then come back and tell me how it was! J Alexanders Website I had a lot of great times at Cork- mostly during happy hour and solid appetizers, and always including some delicious red wine. This place has changed ownership a few times, and I’ve lost track of how they’re doing lately though I’d like to visit again soon. Here were some highlights: Silvan spreads: A variety of vegetable and cheese spreads, crackers and baked bread, this was soooo much better than it sounds because of the unique and everchanging flavors. Potatoes: They were magical, crispy, salty, and everything a potato needs to be (but better than I’d tasted before). And the Aioli was the crowning glory. However, I had them again and they had changed the recipe. My only hope is that they changed them back! The perfect potato! Meat/ cheese platters: A little chutney, tapenade, pepper and smoke- the variety of meats and cheeses was always a win especially with a perfect glass of something. Entrees: I had a few, and they were expensive. Delicious, but not good enough for the price tab. I decided to stick with the appetizers. OK, so- here’s the wrap up- I used to LOVE this place, then I had a couple of lackluster visits. But I still have hope that they can be as they used to be, and it’s in my plans to return sooner rather than later to see if that’s the case. Cork Wine Pub's Website |
