Having just Yelped What Crepe in order to refresh my memory, I learned that they closed their Royal Oak and Birmingham locations (Ann Arbor is still open). So I’m feeling regret that I haven’t made it here in a while, because this place has a delicious and well-executed concept. From their French press coffee to their stuffed crepes, What Crepe packed it in and created a unique, chic breakfast experience. The one drawback: Their Royal Oak location is small and it takes a long time to be served, but this is because their quality food takes a long time to prepare. There are a few standouts (which are still on the Ann Arbor menu). Their truffled chicken crepe is flavorful- add zip sauce for even more zing. The crepe I couldn’t escape was The Obvious- which included apples, chicken, pecans, goat cheese and spinach. If it sounds like a weird combo, it is- weirdly perfect. I’ll miss you What Crepe! I enjoyed my visits, but since Ann Arbor has so many food choices and is far away, I probably won’t be choosing What Crepe on my couple visits a year.
