Frittata used to be my “go to” brunch place. Why? Because it’s delicious, they have a wonderful menu, and they were doing ‘gourmet euro brunch’ when that list was very small. As of late I have been taking my brunching elsewhere, but that’s not due to poor quality. I think it has more to do with the fact that their breakfasts costs so much, and no what I order I’m always surprised by the total bill.
That being said, I still remember how delicious their frittatas are… with plump artichokes, pancetta, green beans, potatoes and other delectable add-ins. My favorite dish changed my life just a little. Mushrooms and toast- a simple way to describe heaven. An egg fried into buttery, garlic bread and topped with perfectly sautéed mushrooms, butter, goat cheese and spinach. Add bacon in the mix to make it even better. Once I figured out how to make it (see “home cookin’” section to do it yourself!) I stopped frequenting so regularly. Don’t let that stop you- on a special morning, Frittata will not disappoint you if you expect to pay a bit more than the average gourmet breakfast. Extra points for live music outside on the patio. The ingredients are top notch, and though the service is slow, it’s because they don’t take shortcuts with preparations. Bon appetit.
