Ok, I won't write much about this place as I don't particularly like it. It has good pie and Panera Bread type sandwiches. That's about it. I feel like I should like it better, but it lacks complex flavors (really their food just needs more seasoning). I know a lot of people who love this place, but I've been here multiple times hoping that I will find something I love and never do. I think I'll pass on TCPC and go to Panera. Traverse City Pie Co Website I never would have eaten here if my friend Kelly didn't recommend them to me. They seem a bit overpriced for me to be a regular diner at this establishment. However, she said they had one of the best burgers she has ever had. Basically when someone says that I have to check it out. It's like... you have to, you know? So I went, and it was in fact pretty damn good. Also, you get a mountain of skinny cut fries that are salty and hot. The burger wasn't the BEST I have ever had, but like I said it was better than average. That's what pretty damn good means, if you didn't know. :)
I was told though that they use different meat and the burger now tastes different. So, I haven't been back. I would like to remember them as the pretty damn good burger place. Welp, they are more than a burger place they have fine dining American-new food, but it's pricey. Stop in and have a burger then come back and tell me how it was! J Alexanders Website If I were Elmer Fudd, I’d feel right at home with the décor of Camp Ticonderoga. It’s your everyday, average hunting lodge complete with animal heads displayed on the wall and wood “cabinesque” walls. As a NON hunter, it didn’t bother me- and the menu looked varied and had some interesting options. So let’s give it a go, I thought. My friend ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and I got the ground chicken sandwich with apples and goat cheese. The service was SLLLLLOOOOOOW and their food was… meh. Once you go “Slow’s BBQ” or Lockharts it’s hard to try someone else’s substandard BBQ sammich. It was just a boring sandwich like my mom would make (no offense mom!) except it was HUGE. Plenty for 2-3 meals. It wasn’t bad, just not the kind we like- shredded to oblivion with a bland BBQ sauce. And the chicken burger was the same. It reminded me of a similar chicken burger I had made at home with goat cheese and apple. Mine wasn’t better, it’s just that their’s didn’t have anything else to set it apart from just putting ingredients on a burger. Bland but edible.
Their outdoor patio looked nice, and they have special events and dinners that sounded fun. But for the price, which isn’t super cheap, there’s just too much else around for me to make a repeat visit. Camp Ticonderoga's Website |
