I don't really have tons to say about Logans. It's American-New food served on Tuesday-Saturday from 5pm-10pm. This place takes reservations. For the prices you'll be paying you don't want to be waiting long for your meal. It's a nice date place if you are trying to impress, but if your date isn't a foodie they may not like this place. It may be to 'new' and not enough 'American'.
Pictured below is the crab and avocado with the Thai scallops. They were both very good. Next time I'd like to try the following: wild boar bolognese, bourbon pork tenderloin, moroccan hen, or the Michigan perch tempura. Logan's Website

My Marks Carts Fave. They specialize in "hand-rolled and steamed buns, filled with yummy homemade meat, mushroom or tofu. Each bun comes with its own tailored sauces and/or pickled veggies. Slider sized." Their Banh Mi sandwiches are worth making a mid-afternoon stop to try them out. I like them hot and spicy! I am going to be lazy and not rotate these images. It just takes too long and if you tilt your head you'll get the idea. :) I won't do this for the rest of my posts. I promise.
San Street's Website Well, I've been to ABC many many many times. I will go many more times. I like going because the group of people that usually is there is super cool. The wait staff is awesome, but I have to admit that some of them are my friends. So, I'm a little biased. That may mean I get better service ...or crappier service than most, I'm not sure. lol
Honestly, I'm not a fan of their beer. That's just my opinion. Most people like it though. If you are unsure of what beer to get you can always get a sampler, which is really nice. I think I like the Blonde? (not sure if that's the name) the best. The food is ok in my opinion. I'll eat it. It's not terrible. It's not super great. ABC is not my first choice for food. Unless you go during off peak times it's generally pretty busy. It's nice if you are going to drink with friends or play shuffle board. You can meet some cool people there as well. I tend to go to ABC for the overall environment and it's just a laid back place to hang out with friends. I would say the serving might be slow during the evening because it's usually busy. They are or have been always friendly. You may get someone new and the service may not be incredibly speedy, but for the most part it's people who have been there for a long time. You will usually see the same faces if you go often. I personally like that because you actually get to know them. The crowd ranges from Twenty somethings to 50 somethings+. It's a nice mix of people usually. Definitely one of the most popular places in A2 to go to. If you haven't checked it out I would suggest doing so. People tend to go once and keep going back. Chances are you will see some of the people that have posted on here. lol [Review written years ago on Yelp] I first have to say that (as mentioned before) Ashley's has a very extended beer selection. It's nice because you can actually have a decent beer instead of getting your standard; Bud and miller. It's a decent place to go to catch up with friends and watch a game. It has a sports bar feel to it, however, it's not like BW3s or Malarkey's. Definitely far from a place like Touchdown. Most of the people that come here are mature UM college students, Grad students, and A2 residents. Mature meaning that no one is opening beer bottles with their teeth and you don't really see "douchebauchery" of any kind. At least not that I've seen. =) If I were to generalize, I think everyone that comes here for the most part comes for the chill ambiance and beer selection.
Their food is, in my opinion, better than a standard bar. You get many options. Some people have said it's overpriced, but I don't think so. However, paying 8 bucks for a burger doesn't seem expensive to me. I guess it just depends on what you are getting. No five course meals will be served...well you could probably order enough to have some sort of said courses, but in general it's just your standard food. Burgers, sandwiches, fries, onion rings, nachos. All American food pretty much. I haven't had super speedy service. It's not terrible, but I definitely sit with an empty glass for moments longer than I would like. I'm usually so engrossed in trying to converse with someone that I don't notice that often. If you want to take a date somewhere I wouldn't take them here. Like I said it's nice, but not that nice. Usually it's quite loud. Especially if there is a game of some sort on... and there usually is a game. So, conversation is hard to have. I've been multiple times and I will definitely go again. So, if you plan on going it will be like anything - it just depends on what you are looking for at the moment and what you want. [This was written years ago. Ashleys is the old One Eyed Bettys - maybe photos to come...] Pinkberry is the only place I really love yogurt and fruit. Man their fruit is fresh and good. There are so many options to choose from. Unlike other yogurt fruit bars that serve the standard strawberries and pineapple. Pinkberry serves up kiwi, blood oranges, and mangos They don't have you pay by the weight, which can be costly. You pay by the size and however much filling you can stuff in that cup. Go to Briarwood Mall. Direct yourself to the center of the mall and buy one. You will find later in the week you'll be craving one and then making up excuses to go to the mall. |
Giving you a taste of what I taste. From gourmet to everyday. No pretentious bull - just good food.
